       சேலம் பெரியார் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் இக்கல்லூரி குமாரபாளையத்தைச் சுற்றியுள்ள ஏழை எளிய மாணவா்கள் உயா்கல்வி பெற 2013ஆம் ஆண்டு இனிதே துவங்கப்பட்டது.  நகரின் இதயப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள இக்கல்லூரி குமாரபாளையம் பேருந்து நிலையத்திலிருந்து 2 கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ளது.  நெகிழி இல்லாத பசுமை மண்டலமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட நம் கல்லூரி 9.32 ஏக்கரில் பரந்து விரிந்து காணப்படுகிறது.

       2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு இளங்கலை தமிழ், ஆங்கிலம், வணிகவியல், இளமறிவியல் கணிதவியல், கணினி அறிவியல் ஆகிய ஐந்து பாடங்களுடன் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட கல்லூரி 2017இல் வணிக நிர்வாகவியல், இளமறிவியல் இயற்பியல், வேதியியல், மற்றும் முதுகலை தமிழ், ஆங்கிலம், வணிகவியல், முதுநிலை கணிதவியல், கணினி அறிவியல் வகுப்புகளும் நடைபெறத் துவங்கின. 2018 இல் இளங்கலை பொருளியல் பாடமும் நடத்த அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டு சிறப்பாக இயங்கி வருகிறது.

       1000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவா்கள் தரமான உயர்கல்வி பெற 25 அனுபவமிக்க நிரந்தரப் பேராசியா்களும் 25 கௌரவ விரிவுரையாளா்களும் நிரந்தர உடற்கல்வி இயக்குநரும் கணினி பயிற்சித் திட்டத்திற்கென (CLP) 2 ஆசிரியா்களும் 8 அலுவலக நண்பா்களும் திறம்பட பணியாற்றுகின்றனா்.கல்லூரியில் விளையாட்டு மைதானமும் கூடைப்பந்து மைதானமும் அமைந்து மாணவா் உடல்நலன் காக்கிறது.  ஆசிரியா் மற்றும் மாணவா் வாகனங்கள் நிறுத்துவதற்கான வசதி சிறப்புடன் உள்ளது. இக்கல்லூரி மரபு மற்றும் கலாசாரம் சார்ந்த கல்வியுடனும் காலத்திற்கேற்ற கற்பிக்கும் முறைகளையும் கொண்டு விளங்குகிறது.

       கணினி பயிற்சித் திட்டமும், சிறந்த தொழில் முனைவோர்க்கான பயிற்சியும் மாணவா்களுக்கு அளிப்பதன் மூலம் பார் போற்ற பீடு நடை போடுகிறது.

Welcome to Government Arts and Science College

Government Arts and Science College, Komarapalayam (Co-Education) affiliated to Periyar University, Salem , was established in the year 2013, from its very inception it has been committed to provide quality and need based education to poor rural students of Komarapalayam and its surrounding areas. The college is located in the heart of the town in a sprawling plastic free green zone extending to 9.32 Acres & is just 2 kilometers from the Komarapalayam bus stand. Initially it started with 5 U.G Courses [B.A Tamil, B.A English, B.Com, B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Mathematics]. In the year 2017-2018, 3 UG courses [B.Sc Physics, B.B.A, B.Sc Chemistry] and 5 P.G Courses [M.A Tamil, M.A English, M.Com, M.Sc Computer Science, M.Sc Mathematics] were started.

More than 1000 Students are provided with quality academic programmes. There are 24 regular experienced faculty, 25 guest lecturers, a physical director and 3 CLP staff. Our College has excellent parking facilities for students and staff, exclusive cricket, basket ball court and a vast ground.

Our college extends its scholarly tradition and is committed to keep pace with the time, constantly updating various teaching methodologies and improvising its quality by providing CLP and Entrepreneurial programmes for students.
